She performs under the mononym Tamannaah and predominantly appears in Telugu and Tamil cinema. In 2005, she made her acting debut in the Hindi film, Chand Sa Roshan Chehra, before working in the major South Indian film industries. Also in 2005, Tamannaah made her Telugu debut in Sri, and in the following year she appeared in her first Tamil film, Kedi. In 2007, she starred in two college-life-based drama films, Happy Days in Telugu and Kalloori in Tamil, which both earned her critical acclaim.
After being part of the several commercially successful films, including Padikathavan (2009), Ayan (2009), Paiyaa (2010) and Siruthai (2011), she emerged a leading contemporary actresses in the Tamil film industry and became informally referred to as the "Queen of Kollywood". She staged a successful comeback in Telugu cinema in 2011 with the romance film 100% Love (2011), which won her several accolades. She subsequently became signed up for several high-profile projects thereafter. With Rachcha (2012), she eventually established herself as one of Telugu cinema's leading contemporary actresses.

Anushka Sharma (pronounced [əˈnʊʂkaː ˈʃərmaː]; born 1 May 1988) is an Indian actress and former model who appears in Hindi films. Sharma's father,  Ajay Kumar Sharma, is an army officer and her mother Ashima Sharma is a housewife. Her father is from Uttar Pradesh and mother from Garhwal division of Uttarakhand.  She has an elder brother named Karnesh,[5] who is in the Merchant Navy. She studied in Army School and graduated with specialization in arts from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore.She later moved to Mumbai to further pursue her modelling career, where she currently resides.

She is the daughter of an actor and a politician Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha. She is the middle of three children with two brothers, Luv Sinha (older) and Kussh Sinha (younger). She studied Fashion Designing at Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women's University in Mumbai.

Sinha's weight has always been a frequent discussion in the media. She's one of the few actresses however not afraid to talk about such issue even slamming the media for their focus on weight, criticism of actresses like herself and pressures they put on women to be movie star fit. She's considered a role model to many young woman fighting to break the size zero mold.










Sinha started her career as a costume designer. She designed costumes for movie Mera Dil Leke Deko in 2005. and walked the ramp at the Lakme Fashion Week 2008 and then again in Lakme Fashion Week 2009.

She made her acting debut in the 2010 film Dabangg co-starring Salman Khan. It went on to become one of the highest grossing Bollywood films.Speaking of her role, she said that she had to lost 30 kg over two years to prepare for her character of a village girl by a combination of proper diet and vigorous exercise. She added that she had been observing people and trying to pick up nuances as a step of further preparation.

She featured as the cover girl of Indian edition of Maxim magazine for the month December 2010.Although Sinha had no film release in 2011, she won quite a few awards for her debut. This included the Filmfare Award as well as the IIFA Awards among many others.
